Hey Matt. Posting is already member only. I do ban every address that spams us. The only step up is to moderate subscribing and hope spammer addresses are not registered yet. But I am reluctant to put moderated-based subscribing Maybe I should make a poll to know if current users feel it is necessary.

SIMPLE (I do it for the 10 or so lists I administer): Just make all new members moderated. Then when a new member sends a message that is good, you de-moderate them and approve the message. All the porn comes from new members that come via bots and post. This method stops them dead.
