Elektron is very quiet lately.....

2003-11-15 by Roonan

Maybe very hard at work to get the O.S. ready in time?
To bad some questions are not answered here, i hoped for more
discussion about the MM.
Well, it's also a lot of fun to play with so; bye :-)

Ronald.

Hopefully they are also working on a new OS for the MD too.

what is wrong with the lattest OS for MD?

Re: Elektron is very quiet lately..... but not as quiet as my VO-6
synth...

If they're really going to have OS 1.0 together by December, then
they do have much to do. They're definitely getting there. I would
push the release date back before I would let someone from SOS review
the MnM in its current state. They're pretty fussy about bugs in the
OS. Plus, the glowing Chris Carter SOS review is what convinced me
to buy the MD.

I have a question on the Digipro synth. Using WP and WPM seems to
introduce a lot of digital clipping or maybe it is just non-zero
crossing loop points? This is especially noticeable on the lower end
of the keyboard. Is this intended? It certainly makes it sound
digital (both of these artifact types are pretty much unique to
digital sound).

Also - will it be possible program chords for the arpeggiator? It
knows what to do with chords when you play it live... it would be a
shame to not be able to sequence this. Especially with the SID arp,
which seems to require a chord input. Being able to record chords
does not necessitate the mono-machine being able to play them.

One other comment on chords. It would be great if there was a global
parameter for note-priority. It is currently low note priority like
many Moogs. It would be nice to be able to set it to high note and
last note priority.

The reasonable thought is that they have Namm in January as a deadline for a
viable OS

Else they are on the christmas track ;)

Nothing is WRONG with it, but there are a lot of new ideas about ways it
could be improved and expanded.

Well, it can be buggy at times. Have you ever copied and pasted
notes? Sometimes this locks mine up. Sometimes when I go to select a
bank like in G, D will show up for an instant. There are still some
bugs in the OS, ndai. I have a feeling it has alot to do with the buffer.

There have been hints about a new OS and some new machines here and there.

Besides new os are always cool.

The crackles are from non-zero loop-points. It is intended to be
that way. It can become very spiky and spooky on some WPM passages,
and we like it. :) It should be able to filter it out if you don't
appreciate it.

Yes, coming up! Already working over here.

The downside is that we needed to change all internal structures,
which means all patches will be lost on the next upgrade (memory
clear reset needed).

I'm not sure I understand... Do you want to send the notes of a
chord in another way, not the lowest first, but the highest? If so,
in what context would this be more suitable? When trigging an
arpeggiator?

If you find a bug in the Machinedrum, please let us know (at
info@...). When we make a new OS we do not necessarily find
all bugs there are, we need to be pointed to them to be able to
recreate them, if we do not already know about them. We know a few
for the Machinedrum, but none really critical, and the one you
mention I don't know about.
