Elektron Musical Instruments

Just sold mine yesterday evening, it has found a good home and my 
banker is a little bit less unfriendly…

We struggled 3 hours to get the OS upgrade work on a PC running XP, 
with Creamware Pulsar card in, using pulsar MIDI out. We tried with 2 
Cubase versions: no midi going out. We wandered into the Pulsar setup 
to nothing. Midi-ox did better but sysex didn't went out of the MIDI 
port.

At last we used the Evolution UC33 as a MIDI out and THEN it worked 
perfect…

Just in case some of you encounter this kind of problem. We are not 
absolutely sure it's the fault of the Pulsar but as some clock was 
coming in whatever we did and we are not sure of the setup as being 
right…

We did the upgrade thru the Evolution at last, that's the most 
important :)

Forget the Pulsar (I own a Pulsar 2 too) for any OS upgrade (MD or  
not). Sysex is broken, I  owned Pulsar's since v1.0 and I could never  
upgrade any flash OS with it, instead I use my Midex8 without any  
problem.

Strange, I've done an MD update using Logic and my PulsarI 
under 2k without any trouble at all!

Well pulsar2 and XP = no go…

We used first what was the defaut MIDI port…

THE mistake :)

Anyway as we had a working alternative…

Someone launched the idea of a FAQ item on the config know to work/not 
to. Maybe it's a GOOD idea :)
