MachineDrum - sequencer question?

MachineDrum - sequencer question?

2003-12-22 by fuentes925

Hello MD user's
I have a basic question about the MD's onboard sequencer. I know it
has 16 track's per pattern, and I would like to know if you can set
one track to 16th notes and another track to 32nd notes with in the
same pattern? If not how could a achive this? How well does the MD
sequencer do at sequencing simple patterns from other midi devices?
Is there any one who only use a MD sequencing other midi devices to
perform music, any links to your music?
 Thank you for any info.

You can set the resolution to 32 steps but that affects all tracks.
Of course you can still mix resolutions by simply using only every other step in a track
for a 16th quantization.

hope that helps

The Machinedrum has quite a good sequencer for simple sequences. It
does not allow for some time signatures since it is a step
sequencer. There are better sequencers out there.

You can check out some of my sequences. Most are done with a
Machinedrum and a Virus:

Maybe this will help too:
You can loop some patterns (i don't mean song mode) if you hold the
bank button and then hold the patterns you want to be played in a
loop.
e.g. push and hold d+3+4+5+6 = MD plays 3-4-5-6-3-4-5-6-...
the quantization depends on the pattern-quantization
so you can play 16th-32th-6th-whateverth

If you don't want to compose a song, this is a nice feature. Also
very good for live use.

have fun,
christian
