Elektron Musical Instruments

Hi,
i use my MD for less than a year now and i use mostly for bass-sounds 
and as a drummachine. I tried to create some patterns with chords and 
leads, but all i get is just crappy. I don't know how to combine 
sounds so they'll sound like soft leads etc... 
Anyone advice relating that point would just be great!

hint1: the EFM HH machine is very melodic
hint2: using the following LFO settings will give you a softer attack:
       shp1 and shp2 set to their fifth waveform, mix set to 100-ish
       and speed set around 8 or 16

this got me a decent string sound. I have an mp3 up of it but the server's
fried right now so I won't post the URL.
