Endless feature lists :/

Endless feature lists :/

2004-02-03 by Fierce Fish

Guys, I don't want to stir up a hornets nest here, but I don't think it is
realistic to expect some of the things you are asking for. Bug fixes are one
thing, but having 2 different versions of an OS, new samples added and some
of the other crazy stuff is a little unreasonable.

We are in a fortunate position to own gear made by a company that listens to
its customer base and delivers great, innovative and well supported gear.
There is only so much that you can do within the limitations of the hardware
and software of any device, after all say for a moment Elektron did do two
versions of the MD OS, this in itself apart from all the coding side of
things would be a nightmare -some people would want features from both,
compatibility issues, bug fixes, more feature requests etc etc.

Discussion about new features is good, it provides great feedback between
Elektron and its customers but we have to be reasonable.

Are 909 hats really that hard to come by? Virtually every drum machine from
the major corparations has had 909 samples since the mid 90's. To me
including them in the MD would be like putting ketchup on caviar.

Yes, I agree with you. Two OS's sounds like a crazy idea to me,
especially with the whole concept of the MD being a very streamlined,
un-cluttered instrument. The MD is cool because it's powerful but
extremely USEABLE, unlike lots of the powerful yet "nerdy" instruments
out there which only really appeal to spec-heads and techies doing
sound experiments as opposed to actually making music.
