[MD] Individual outs bugs ?

[MD] Individual outs bugs ?

2004-02-24 by vcagate

Hi there !

My MD (OS 1.12b) seems to have troubles with individual outs. Ie :
sometimes OUT C&D and OUT E&F are inverted during playing or editing.
For example : Kick is usually played trhu OUT C, when this bug occurs
kick is played thru OUT D and when I look into [GLOBAL] I must select
OUT D to have it played thru OUT C. Same thing for OUT E&F. Crazy !
I have been playing with this MD for 8 months without any bugs before.
Perhaps somebody have the same bug, or a solution ? (except turning
OFF then ON again)

Thanks
mike

I don't mean to be insulting here, but have you
checked your cabling to make sure that you don't have
the OUT pairs actually reversed in their patching to
your mixer? I only ask because I have made the same
mistake before - thinking I had an output-swapping
problem, when in fact it was my own reverse-wiring
that was the cause... again, no offense, just that
I've learned to always check the obvious things
first...

cheers,
kevin

I don't feel insulted :-) but unfortunatly it is not the answer since
I only use one individual out (C) ... Thanks

I found no way to reproduce this bug but it has been here three or
four times and seems to be linked to edit mode. Example : the kick
plays on out C, I select hihat for edit, I input a note for hihat and
the kick swaps suddenly on out D ...

BTW, I apologize for my bad syntax, I am french =)

Appearently nobody else has had this problem. My guess is that you
may have a defective unit and somehow the outputs are switched. This
is what it seems like.

Are you saying that you can have the BD go out to C in Global, but
when you go to tweak another drum part the BD comes out at D(Does it
say D for BD in Global?)?

My suggestion is that you make sure it is not something you are
messing up. I agree I make mistakes too and think it's a bug. Get in
contact with Elektron.

See if you can do a software reset also. Don't forget to save your
patches.

Well, sometimes BD goes out to D (but on the GLOBAL screen it says
'C'), when I change it to 'D' it goes out to 'C' ... I can live with
that, I suppose :-/

Thanks,
