Machine Hihats ?

Machine Hihats ?

2004-02-25 by phonophobie

Hi all,
I don´t own a Machinedrum - I am just interested in Sounds that the
MD can synthesize .. especially Hihats... i am tired of all that 909
thing and just wondering what the MD can make ..

Are there maybee Samples to check out - ( hopefully for free )

Maybee Someone could upload some waves in the files section ?

cheers
phono

Here's a snippet of a track I was screwin with a few weeks ago.

http://lfo.fsck.org/~chris/music/housey_test2_ms.mp3

All percussion is the machinedrum, bass is my bass guitar, pad is from
the Ion.

Here's another one which is a bit more breaky/dnbish. It's completely
machinedrum except some DP/4 for reverse 'verb.

There are some hats in both buried around.. may be hella warped tho :)

there's at least four closed hi-hat types and three or four open ones.
all of them can be tweaked with six or more parameters (the type of
parameter depends on the machine). and you can do *quite* a lot with them.

there's a good number of sound samples at www.machinedrum.com and a good
example of just how far the hi-hats can go can be found under samples
of the user name "Odegaard". he used hi-hats to create string and Rhodes
piano sounds! :-)

hope that helps!

Here ya go, more screwed hats:
http://plot.bek.no/~andreas/Lupo%20-%20Beatshifter.mp3 - 100%
machinedrum elektronika/tekno. Note that the somewhat weirdo timing and
glitching is part of the programming.

Havent touched the 909 hats since the machine came. :)

Thanx guys for the "hihat mp3´s"...some nice stuff there !

It would be nice when some users could upload some MD drummsounds in
the files area - yeah

i wish i would have the money for a MD.
Well i will sample some stuff in the kitchen now ;-)
