Elektron Musical Instruments

Okey, I'm working with this song and pattern. I'm on my way to build 
a new bass sound, but I think: "Hey, I need some inspiration!". Why 
don't check out the presets then? I start browsing the preset 
patterns. Finally I find a sound that I want to manipulate, I copy 
that machine and head back to my first pattern.

Now, all the machines in that pattern have become altered! Why? I 
don't realise what I've done "wrong".

This is something that makes me really mad and frustrated. Okay, I've 
owned the Mono for a few months now, but still I manage to do this 
mistake over and over again. Someone please explain.
