yes, i meant to but i accidentally hit my Enter key and it sent the message before i had 
time to fill in the message body. my bad. so yeah, are we expecting an MD2? just curious 
as i'm about to plunk down the cash for the MD anytime now. forgive me, a question like 
this totally reveals me as a Mac user ;-) always cautious of the newest-latest just around 
the corner.

Hi,
so i guess you don't have an original MachineDrum at the moment. Don't
think about a MD2 at the moment, it is not the right time (hope i am
not wrong). At the moment, MAchineDrum is my mostly used drummer
(XBase-09 for analog BassDrums next to it). If you want one, buy one!
MD is realy worth it. There are some wishes for a new OS, but at
least, MD is a working animal and you can go deep into the rythm. 
What's next from electron? If this is your question, than you have to
wait until Winter Namm or so... What everver it is, i will buy it.
Read what the papers wrote about there innovative instruments. 
MachineDrum is still the top! No need for a new machine.
My Drumsetup at the moment:
MachineDrum
X-Base09 (mostly used for BassDrum)
Yellow Tools Culture for Percussion
mhm, that's it, if i am honest, i still got more equipment, but it is
turned off.

no, we're not.  but we've been told that a new OS (user upgradeable, 
BTW) is just
around the corner.  given that Elektron is a really small company and 
they've JUST

ha!  I know that feeling very well - I'm typing this on the Powerbook I 
waited two
months for them to release!

I also don:t think they:ll have a new machine until they get the MnM and the new MD OSes 
out.  I:d think they would be developing a product now but not much more than ideas for 
a new product.  A Machinedrum 2 would not be in a couple years if any.

I`m typing from the Apple Ginza store in Tokyo as we speak.  I was looking for a 
microphone input for the iPod.  I guess the one I want is not out_?  Not just the 
microphone but the input device.  Look at me I can:t even find the proper punctuation 
from these keyboards.

the machinedrum2 will be equiped with a sampler and
the monomachine2 will have a sampler too and a sid
chip in it. Wouldn't that shit be a dream come true!

I don't see any reason for Elektron to replace the current MD. It's THE
state-of-the-art drummachine of the moment, and nothing is even coming
close. There's nothing that would suggest it's life cycle would be over
soon. More logical for Elektron would be to penetrate new markets. The
drummachine market had the MD. The synth market had the MnM. So what s next?
Sampler? Dedicated sequencer? Maybe even a pure effects box?

Please Please, FX FX! DSP DSP! USB USB!
a dsp effects box to run on usb or firewire, so it can be used as a vst(s).. 
and also used as a tabletop hardware fx box. theres a gap in the market for 
y'all :-D
