MnM midi transmit?

MnM midi transmit?

2004-06-08 by snmcur2000

Can the mono transmit sequenced midi data into another sequencer?
I'm trying to run its note data into an mpc but it is only sending
clock info. I've gone into the globals and tried different
variations under the control params without effect. Then I recalled
how the mono's midi crashed my partner's computer a bunch of times,
while only syncing the clock with transport enabled.

Am I missing something or does the mono simply not play well with
others.

try going to global->control->control out1 and setting sequencer to
"out" or "int+out"
and that will transmit the internal sequences. if you want the arp to
be sent, you should
do the same for it.

I just tried this by hooking my MnM up to an external synth and
matching their MIDI
channels. the MnM's internal sequences played on the external synth
just fine, so your
MPC should be able to receive the MIDI notes as well.

hope that helps!

Thanks Joe. I think I did just that a few times last night, though the bottle of wine was nearly gone...Will give it another shot this evening.

I don't think the mpc can recieve that. It can recieve notes and midi
control changes. I don't think it will recieve sequenced data
especially from an elektron sequencer. If you press a key on the mono
or turned a knob it should recieve that. It will not recieve you just
pressing play on a sequencer.
