machinedrum midi recording

2004-06-14 by vampyrecat13

hi. i am trying to record midi off md to cubase. i was successful. i
recorded many knob tweaks. after i got done recording it, i played it
back, it played the tweaks fine, so i move onto my snare drum sound
(on its own track in cubase)(selected it on md) and when i go to play
the first track the tweaks are gone? i had wanted to go in and change
the patterns manually in cubase, ie. draw them in. i am not the most
familiar with continous controller info in cubase. i saw some info
when i opened the key editor and looked at the controller lanes which
i assume is my knob tweaks but they dont play back? what are your
prefered methods, the easiest way of recording machinedrum midi, i
dont like to use the onboard song mode, i want to go directly into
cubase and use it more as a sound module and use the patterns
somewhat. thanks and i hope i didnt confuse anyone.

You might need to have to the Read button activated (a green "R" in
the track inspector) when playing back the track to get it to "read"
the automation. Just guessing.

thanks for replying, that didnt werk. i am very frustrated. all i
wanna be able to do is record the knob tweaks via midi, then edit the
controller lanes like in reason. can i do that?????? and how? i did
it before but now its not werking and i cant figure out what i did. i
tried straight recording them, tried writing them then read, no. the
ports are enabled. also is there anyway to figure out which
controller lane belongs to what paremeter. maybe im wrong and you
cant do this but know this, it is hampering my creativity as i find
it difficult to get it right the first go as in audio recording,
gaaaaahhhh, help, please! i realize this is more of a cubase question
but machinedrum is what im recording.--- In elektron-

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
