MM MIDI out Question

MM MIDI out Question

2004-06-19 by allen949@aol.com

I think that this may have been discussed but I can't find specific mention
in the archives, and the manual is failing me on this simple issue. Any help
will be greatly appreciated.

I have a pattern that I wish to transmit via MIDI to Cubase for additional
layering of instruments. Thus, I wish to record the MIDI output of each channel
individually, in synchrony with the audio output. I am using MIDI clock from
Cubase SX2 to control Start and Stop of Monomachine.

I cannot enable the Monomachine to transmit the MIDI data corresponding to
the notes on any Track (Track 1, alone, for example) so that I can capture it in
Cubase.

The manual seems to address this, but I can't get a MIDI out cable to carry
any signal from the Monomachine.

I am sending MIDI clock into Monomachine (via my interface A), and am trying
to send MIDI out from the Monomachine via a different cable and interface (my
interface B) back to my computer. Audio output is fine, just no MIDI out.

What am I overlooking?

Thanks,
A

check out the global menu. under control out (1, I believe) you want
to set the sequencer to "int+ext" so that it will play internally and
export it's data as well.

hope that helps!
Joe

Thanks for your speedy response, but there is something else that I am
missing. My global setup was already playing internally and externally ("int+ext").
I am sending MIDI clock out from Cubase, and so the Cubase controls start
and stop the MM just as they should. However, still, when I start the MM via
Cubase (or even without Cubase), I can't get any data being sent via the MM's
MIDI out cable. I tried recording on channel 10 (which should be the
transmssion channel) and then any channel, and channels 1-16 individually, but as far as
I can tell, no MIDI signal is exiting from MM.

Is there a conflict with MIDI clock input? Or (as I suspect) is there simply
one more control that I haven't activated properly? I have read the manual's
discussion of MIDI a bunch of times and I can't find an answer. I have also
sent this question to elektron tech support, but so far I have not received an
answer.

Perhaps one of the other elektron machines has a manual that addresses this
issue and will be relevant here.

Thank-you,
A

Hi !

I need to put a plug to a taiwanese power cord cable.
The colors are: black, white, green.

Anybody knows what color is the earth core ?

Flo

I don't know maybe Black. But... Don't they have a converter there
for foreign appliances? I'd go with one of those. Ask around.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
