MD os 1.19 beta trigs

MD os 1.19 beta trigs

2004-08-25 by Jonathan Lukens

Hi all.
I just installed MS os1.19beta. Hoping it would resolve a few issues I
have. I use my MnM to trigger patterns on my MD and have had some
problems with MD sounds that sustain over the last beat of the pattern
and continue sustaining after the 1st step has passed again. They seem
to have been solved by me switching the new trig options in the map
editor to "QUE." "STRT" seems to be the old way of doing things, with
the pattern being started from the beginning each time it receives the
midi note I have set to trigger it. "GATE" doesn't seem to do anything.
That is, when I switch things to "GATE," the MD plays nothing. Has
anyone experimented with these features? Has anyone experimented with
the new "CTRL" group in the map editor? Has anyone figured out sending
song pointer position as mentioned in the release notes?

Essentially, I need to be able to have MnM tell MD to start and stop
playing patterns at different times, but I also need to be able to
sequence the muting of tracks within those MD patterns.

The answers to these questions might be obvious-- Ive only experimented
with the new os for about an hour, but I have a show coming up soon,
and any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jon/retconned

I have for a few minutes. it was a while ago, but if I recall the MD
playing is gated by
incoming notes. so if you have A01 mapped to C3 and then send C3 to
the MD,
it will play pattern A01 as long as C3 is held down.
