now the brackets are zinc coated metal strips with 
holes in i cut the strips into 4 equal sizes  for the keyboard they are 
screwed to the cf scsi card drive or to the bracket for the external male 34pin 
idc connector
 
the bracket then is drilled through the hole of the 
holder and 4 self tap screws are screwed to hold the plate 
 
the brackets are then fixed to the bracket floppy 
holes and to the slim floppy via 3mm and 2mm screws with rubber washers which i 
get from my bolts and screw supplier
 
the rack you drill 2 holes into the one bracket 
holder of the emax that holds the floppy drive then you fix 2 brackets to the 
opposite side 
 
you fix the slim floppy to the 2 holes in the emax 
bracket one side and then fix the bracket and the hole for the scsi cf drive or 
the bracket for the external connection to a hxc rev f
 
and then fix the other end of the brackets to the 
slim floppy 
 
on the rack the slim floppy adapter fixes to the 
top of the casing right behind the slim floppy drive in line with the flat cable 
i use 3mm 30mm screws with 15mm 3mm pillas
 
the slim floppy adapter then sits on the pillas and 
it bolted down with washers and nuts
 
you need to add a toggle on/off switch to the metal 
plate with the 34 pin idc so that when you have the hxc plugged in you switch 
the power of to the slim floppy and the signals are still connected to the hxc 
via a external cable and you can archive your sounds in the hxc
 
you need a specail cable made it has 2 female idc 
34 pin connectors and 1 male with lugs that gets bolted to the metal 3.5" floppy 
size bracket
 
then on both synths you can use an external hxc rev 
f drive for both devices rather than having the cost of 2 hxc rev f 
drives
 
if just fitting the rev f drives and slim floppy 
combo its the same but the toggle would have to be fitted to the rev f hxc drive 
 
bruce should be able to work this out
 
i have had many parts from bruce for fixing 
sp12/1200 as he is the only stockist of the drum pad contact switches 
 
any slim floppy will do i have had mitshuta 
/teac/sony/ibm branded which were teac
 
and a few others they all work as they have to 
follow the same specs for the slim floppy specs
 
i have had brand new nos drives for £10 
recently
 
the slim floppy adapters are available from ebay in 
usa and as your in usa the postage is cheap the conversion is available from 
teds site 
 
and i looked on ebay and theres loads of nos slim 
floppy drives 
 
bruce will need if fitting a hxc and slim floppy a 
3 x 34 pin female idc connectors and a custom ribbon which he will need to 
measure in side the machine as the rack and keyboard dimentions are 
different  so that one connector fits the digital board then the second 
connector fits the slim floppy adapter and the last fits the hxc rev f drive 
 
the toggle needt to be wired to the 5v cable using 
a double pole switch and the he needs a normally closed and normally open toggle 
switch  and 2 sets of cables to minispox female floppy power the normally 
closed goes to the slim floppy adapter and the normally open goes to the hxc rev 
f 
 
bruce should have all the crimpers for 
this

at some point when i get time ill do a pdf on it as 
i have done loads of slim floppy cf card instalations  and 1 of these new 
external bracket types which im doing for several synths to make life easy as 
floppy is still not dead yet
