You can connect a digidesign 442 io to the sound accelerator ii card mentioned below. That's how I use mine in a IIsi with 64mb of RAM.
I have a IIci as well but the serial ports seem problematic when trying to use sd for EII. Can't communicate error each time I try to send signals to eii from software control but the if I keep send the command again it responds and communication goes back offline. Switched to the iisi and works everytime.
Jammie, think I need to recap my iici?
Id love to use that as its far more expandable than the slower smaller iisi.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks.

sounddesigner for emax does not
but if you want to use sounddesigner for all samplers
like i do which means you do samples once then dump them to several machines
as was trhe only way back then but now you have translator software like translator
i use a soundtool2 card which was the pre protools card and came wirth an external
adc/dac and had a scsi 25dsub connection
then there was audiomedia 1 this had the inputs and adc and dac onboard the card
then there was audio media 2 same as first with better motorola dsp chip and better adc/dacs
then there is audiomedia3 this is a pci card all sampler formats and dumping was stopped it was just a poor mans protools card
the first 3 i mentioned require os7 to work correctly as os8 dropped the support for the midi of these cards and why the pci version stopped doing sample support
as digi design were to lazy to redo the midi code to work with os8 that it used with the earlier cards
i use a macIIci with my card 128mb ram and a scsi cf drives very quiet and i use it with my EII EIII mirage dss1 and many others

Hello! Several versions require a "DSP" card. Would anyone give me more information as to this? Thank you!
