The ribbon cable the stripe (pin1) of the cable must be nearest to the back of Emax.
On the drive end of the ribbon cable the stripe is USUALLY next to the power cable connection.
If it's not, then you don't have it connected properly.
The other most likely option is the drive is faulty.
again- if you have pics of the connections to the drive and the logic- upload them to a website and post the link for confirmation / review.

Alright so I unplugged the drive and turned the emax se on, screen just says emu systems Inc loading software. I don't know if that info helps. As far as the disk drive cable it plugs into the circuit board corner closest to the drive and labeled CN1. I really want to get this keyboard working again.

This is the current cable attachment on my emax se. So it appears closer to the power supply and keys side of the keyboard. Still no good results, and no matter the cable placement the LED stays lit and once the drive has a disk inserted the drive just spins.
