There are no upgrades for the Emax. At this point you need tp purchase an Emax that
already had the SCSI upgrade in order to have SCSI. There is the a mod to add external
MIDI to a unit that already has internal SCSI.

Though the Emax and SP1200 are very similar I've heard the filters (or was it the DAC)
on the SP1200 sounds slightly beefier.
The Emax has a pretty good "realtime control" assignment and you can use that to
assign most filters and things to MID control A or B, wheels, velocity etc.
