I have an Emax and a problem I had sooo long ago (it was a warranty repair) was that if I played a note repeatedly and in rapid succession, some of the notes would come out distorted. It was as if some of the later polyphonic channels were bad (like the last one since it happened so infrequently) ... is that what you are talking about?
