Update on progess of testing; The file when uploaded (soon I promise)will be a self extracting file "EMX BOOT DISK.exe". It is a winimage program which you will need to run in order to create a bootable 1.44 FD (more detailed instructions later). When PC is booted from this created boot floppy it will and create a ramdisk and load DOS into it.You will get a prompt x:/EMX You then just type EMX to launch EMX program. Now the kind of tricky part. In order to get .em* files into this ramdisk you will need to have a cdrom drive and a cd with the samples in emx format. You then type cdrom at the x:/EMX prompt and it will load DOS cd drivers and then you will see which drive letter has been allocated to the CDrom drive. Usually c:. Change to this directory c: and type the DOS copy command eg; "copy 55-disk1.em2 x:" This will copy the sample file to the emx directory. Change back to x:\EMX and type EMX to launch the EMX program. From here it is plain sailing [W] write file etc .... I have run into a slight problem - I allocated 4megs to the ram drive and this should not be too much of a hassle unless you want to dump more than 4 megs worth of samples into the X:/EMX directory. I may increase the size as I was doing some 4 meg em2 files last night. Please give me any feedback if you see any thing I should change.
