My light is on all the time too. I think they use it as a power indicator,

No slidercaps that I know of.

Get a backlight from

Midi-rakete.de. He sells emax backlights, Much better than the worn ones.

Enjoy!!

Subject: [emax] New emax owner with questions...

Hello to the group! I have just aquired an Emax rack unit and a good
library of samples, and so far I'm very pleased. There are a few
things I've noticed about my particular unit that I wanted to ask
  about.

First of all, I'm missing one of the slider caps... anyone have a
source on these? I'd like to find a couple of them, since they seem
like they'd be easy to lose.

Second, the display on my unit really sucks. It's very dim and the
contrast is terrible. The message archive leads me to believe this
is a common problem, but I couldm't find any solutions... Is this
something that can be fixed, and if so how involved is it?

Final Q - My disk drive light stays on *all the time* This worries
me a bit... is this a cause for concern, or just a quirk that can be
overlooked? I've had no problems at all with the drive in the short
time I've been using it, and I've been swapping and loading like a
  madman!

Thanks for any help you can provide!

  D
