Re: [emax] Kentucky Fried Chicken ?

If you want to archive banks and don't have an HD model Emax you have only
one choice right now, use EMX to extract the banks as em1 files on your
computer. I've heard whispers that there might be an alternative coming
towards the end of summer, but nothing concrete or that I can share just
yet. I myself have never got Transformer Free from Rubber Chicken to work
correctly it recognizes Emx file, but it doesn't play back the samples
correctly and is prone to crashing on my system.

If you want to archive the samples themselves you have another choice. The
Emax does work with programs that support MIDI Sample Dump Standard (MIDI
SDS aka SDS) Programs like SOund Forge and Awave support this. This would
only save individual samples though, not any preset or bank information.

There are other options for Mac users.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
