Re: [emax] EMAX II Sustain Pedal

2005-01-04 by JUDITH DEHART

Thanks for responding John,
I have tried my Yamaha pedal and get constant sustain
UNTIL depressing the
tongue......................making me think that the
"closed until pedal is depressed" switch in the Yamaha
is the opposite of the EMAX requirement. I've tried
reversing the polarity, but logic tells me that no
matter what the polarity......the switch on the Yamaha
is still closed until the pedal is depressed.
The EMAX seems to be looking for the opposite
configuration......whatchthink?
Thanks again,
Dave

---------------------------------
According to Page 7 of the Emax II manual:

"the footswitches should be of momentary contact type,
but can be either normally-open
or normally-closed" then it goes on to say the pedal
can either be a voltage type pr
resisitance type.

So you are good to go. Remember you have to assign the
footswitch's function in "Preset
Definition" though most factory presets have it set to
sustain by default, I believe.
