I'm thrilled by what you tell us here :)

I can offer to (try to) port the software to Linux. Do you program it  
in C?
And if it compiles and runs on Linux, it shouldn't be too hard to  
port it to the current MacOS as well.

What do you think?

(In fact, I can dream about a simple graphical user interface which  
could be added on top. :)
