Here's a quote straight out of the PDF file for the
EMAX SE update manual (from emulatorarchive.com)

To Update Your Emax:
1. Locate the Emax SE Retrofit disk. This disk
contains the SE software.
2. Make sure that the write protect window is closed
(Unprotected).
3. Boot up your Emax with the SE Retrofit disk.
4. The SE update will be done automatically and Emax
will display: \ufffdSE Updated. Please Re-boot\ufffd.
5. Remove the SE Retrofit disk and switch off Emax.
Switch power on again and re-insert the disk.
6. Emax will now boot the SE software and you can
update the software on your disk library.

which kind of suggests to me that it did some sort of
eeprom update...

I hope so... I would really love to play with the
transform multiply function!

I definately am - Because without the SE OS I don't
have those options in the menus.

I load up a "blank" disk (just the SE OS) I sample 2
sounds in, truncate them, and go to the digital
processing menu. go to transform multiply. this fails
every time. and tells me I dont have enough memory...
maybe I should really hack the samples down, to less
than 1K each or something, but whats the point working
with a sample that small?

Does anyone on this list use the digital processing
functions in an emax SE? maybe theres some subtlety I
am missing with the process.
