Downloaded from the net??

My emax came with a bunch of disks. 1 or 2 of them had
SE OS on them already (not original disks though, just
copies) Its possible that the very first time an SE
disk was put into my emax, it got updated - before I
had it......... in which case I have some other
problem with transform multiply.....

can you please try and do a transform multiply on your
emax?? I would be very interested to know what
happens.

just to cloud the matter further, heres some bits from
around the quote I made yesterday...

READ THIS FIRST!
This Emax SE product update allows you to update one
Emax to an Emax SE. It also allows you to make copies
of the disks and software that will run on your
Emax. Sound disks formatted on your updated Emax can
be loaded into a regular Emax, however they will not
boot the non-SE unit. To avoid the error message
\ufffdDifferent Software Rev.\ufffd, and so that you will have
backup copies of the software, you should update all
your sound disks with the SE software.

Your SE Update includes:
 SE Update Manual
 Emax SE Update/Development Disk
 Spectrum Synthesis Sound Disk
 Transform Multiplication TM Sound Disk

ONE MORE THING!
Your Footswitch jacks may have been uncalibrated by
the SE update procedure. It would be a good idea at
this time to go to the recalibrate menu (located under
MASTER, Special) and check to see if the footswitch
polarity has changed and if so, change it back to the
correct polarity for your footswitches.

Now, my emax definately loads the SE OS disks, so from
the first quote it means I *must* have the eeprom
upgrade already... shame there's no way to indicate
the eeprom's version, or upgrade status in the menu
system.

I have had my emax rack for about 3 years now, and I
really dont use it much... but I want to.... I love
the way it sounds... I guess I just got frustrated
with the transform multiply stuff, and the arpeggiator
latching up.... (apparently it doesn't with the SE OS
I'll have to try it again!!) so I gave up on getting
right into it. a bit sad really. I'm making a huge
effort to find out more about it now so I can get into
it more and actually start using it for more than just
occasional lo-fi sample hits.
