Hi, Sorry to pour cold water on this idea !! We too have the SE diskette, the problem is that it can only be used to upgrade an Emax once. Once the Emax EEPROM is updated the diskette is written to and the diskette becomes the Development diskette not the Upgrade diskette. It has some nice samples on it that use TM. We havent had any luck with disk2file either.... You need to reverse engineer the small upgrade application from the OS diskette...and switch the bit back on that means its a new upgrade diskette..trouble is finding a PC or Mac program that reads and writes to ALL areas of the Emax formatted diskette. Thats why EMX is a bit tricky...Now if someone copied a virgin SE diskette with EMX we might be in business..... E-mu don't have the ability to create more SE upgrade diskettes, and they have not offically sanctioned the Emax diskettes on our web site either....they just turn a blind eye. We are liaising closely with the 1980's E-mu team and we hope to have a solution to the SE upgrade and many other E-nmu gotchas early next year once international travelling becomes less risky .... I'd have to really look for it. please do! Basically, if we can get hold of this disk, and find a way to image the whole thing (disk2file) then we have a way for everyone on the net to upgrade their emax properly to an SE!!!! I'm sure E-mu wouldn't mind people doing this, seeing as they have already given away their old emax sample library.... julian ===== //////////// / bleeeep! / //////////// http://briefcase.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo!
