Okay..(in the 119 page PDF I believe I got here)...check page 47 the
'Sample Module' chapter. Have a look at the 'Module: SAMPLE 2'
section. This explains how to set the source root key and key-range
when you are creating a sample from scratch. Start out by only using
the primary or 'PRI' voices so you don't get confused.

And then check page 73 for 'Module: PRESET DEFINITION 2'. This is the
page where you can re-edit your key map location(s)...or key ranges.
Again get the hang of it using only 'PRI' voices until you get it locked.

I personally found the Emax pretty to the point and breezy with
key-mapping related tasks. One more thing to check..which I found in
a hard copy of the manual but NOT in the PDF..sample key ranges are
limited by sample rate as follows:

10khz = 25 semitone range
16khz = 18 semitone range
20khz = 13 semitone range
28khz = 8  semitone range
31khz = 6  semitone range
42khz = 1  semitone range

A 'semitone' is simply a key on the keyboard. Thus the above info
indicates (based on sample rate) how many keys you can stretch a sound
or sample over. Hope this helps some...if you still got questions, no
worries.
