Emax

Maybe a dumb question, but how can I tell how much memory my Emax II has? I have looked at the "memory remaining" function, but cannot make heads or tails of it. I recently purchased my rack unit and was told it has been upgraded to 8MB. I was working on a sequence and bank and got not enough memory message. 
Is there some other function to tell how much memory I have?
