Emax

I have heard great things about the emax 1 and SE filters as they are 
analog? this correct?

I love the Irresisitible Force "flying high" album which is 90% emax 1 
multi-tracked and the filters are great on that album..

Apparently it was done by sampling sounds, and wiggling the data knob 
(assigned to a filter?)

Does the emax have hipass filters or band pass?

And can anyone post a sample of a orchestral string chord sampled and 
filtered by the emax so i can hear it in action??

Im not sure wheter to get an emax or a sherman filterbank for my Akai?
