Re: [emax] Hello all, I'm trying to track down some parts for my Emax II

2008-11-28 by Ted Summers

Dave,

If those are the original banks that are also used from Emax 1 also,
there are several banks missing from the "known good" sets out on the
web.

Anyone want to chime in with the known missing banks? If not, I can
build the list and post what I believe is missing from looking at the
3 archive sites I know of.

You can use EMXP (free program thanks to Esynthesist group member) to
duplicate the banks into a form able to be used by the group.

As to the communicating with the Mac, an 8500 should be fine using
either SDII Emax version or Alchemy 3. Although I believe Esynthesist
is working on adding direct bank dump and load to EMXP...

Regards - and welcome to the group!

Ted

Hello all,

I've just joined the group, and it's great to see that there are still
a large number of people
still using the Emax!!
I've just purchased an Emax II rack, and an Emax II keyboard.......I
can't wait to start using
them!!!
The only problem is both of them require parts to get them working
again :(
The rack is in perfect working order, apart from the fact that the
floppy drive is shot. I
need to find a replacement.....any ideas?
The keyboard is in an even worse condition, but still worth saving,
and not beyond repair!!
The LCD have given up, but I've been told that it is pretty
straightforward to repair. Does
anyone know where I can obtain a replacement screen from?
Also, 2 of the keys are broken. They still work, but need
replacing.....does anyone know
where I could purchase a couple of replacement keys from?
I was lucky enough to be able to buy the complete Emax sound library
on floppy's, and I
can't wait to be able to you the sounds in my songs!!
I work as a prop maker, and could remove a couple of complete key,
mould them, and
produce a replacement keys, but to be honest I would rather obtain a
couple of original
keys to replace the broken ones.
I'm kicking myself, as I was offered a 'dead' Emax II last year, which
had a complete
keyboard, and working LCD......wish I bought it!!
I would be more than happy to post sound bank's from my collection in
the files section, if
anyone needs a particular bank.
Many thanks in advance

All the best

Dave
