Any budding Emax repairers in UK? - (Jammie?)

2009-01-08 by alancurrall

Hi Group, I've just about reached the end of my tether with this Emax
and wondered whether there is anyone in the UK who could help me get
it back on the road.

Here's the story: It's an Emax I SE rack mounted version and so far
I've brought it back from the dead with a new power supply. Flushed
with my success at that I thought I'd have a crack at replacing the
faded LCD. So I bought the replacement and set about removing the old
one. Unfortunately, mine is the model with the LCD module soldered
directly on to the button panel PCB rather than the, simpler to swap
out, plug-in variety. Well, my soldering skills being what they are I
made a right old hash of the board, where the LCD module should be
mounted, and I'm just not up to repairing and making it good.

If there is some talented soul out there who knows their way around an
Emax and is handy with a soldering iron, I'd loved to pay them their
going rate plus a small gratuity for their kindness, if they can get
this thing working. If it's someone who already has an Emax of their
own I might only need to send the parts rather than parceling up the
whole heavy machine.

Well... Any brave takers?

Here's hoping,
Alan
