Re: [emax] Emax floppy drives

We do sell a replacement for the Ell and it does work 100% with all dual drive Ell units, It however does not work in the upper bay as a one drive setup nor does it work with any HD models. If your friend is still having problems with his Ell and his setup is indeed a dual drive model we would not stop offering support, that's just not anything we would do for any reason.

  Subject: [emax] Emax floppy drives

I have been scouring the Internet today looking for lists of compatible emax
drives. I am hoping to head to an electronics surplus store here in Toronto
after work. I see that these models are compatible:

  Mitsubishi Full Height 3.5" MF353B - 12 UJ or MF353BA - 12U
  And some early NEC's
The drive that is currently in my Emax II was originally pulled from a
friend's EIII Keyboard (He killed my floppy a long time ago) and it is a
  Sony.

Does the TEAC FD235HF-A529 work in the Emax II as well?

I read that a floppy drive from a Mac Classic might work so, I tried taking
apart a friend's dead Mac SE to use it's floppy drive, only to find that
it's not the same type of ribbon cable.

I would try route66 but, my friend ordered a drive for his Emulator II from
there and has never been able to get it to work and they stopped offering
him support apparently so, I want to avoid any hassle like that if
  possible.

Any suggestions on what floppies will work is greatly appreciated.

  Thanks,
