Hi, I use a Zip 100 plus drive with the SCSI/Parallel autodetect feature on my 4mb Emax II Rack unit and it works absolutley fine. It formats the Zip disks okay (takes a while though) and then automatically copies onto the zip disk the OS 2.14 so that it is then ready for me to copy EMAX II sound banks to it via the (excellent) EXMP software and an older PC laptop with a parallel Zip drive plugged into it. This setup all seems to work surprisingly well and EXMP reports the foramtted disk as 96mb after formatting. All I did was set the SCSI ID on the back of the Plus drive to 5 and with a formatted zip disk in, my Emax instantly boots up from it. (can someone verify this?)....the emax sees the zip drive, sees that the disk is 100mb, but when i formatted it says disk not formatted. if i try to load form the zip, i get "this is not an EMAX disk". i also get "Different software revision!!" if i try to use some menu items in master says as the emu bird run thingy. > > > --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, nung242 <nung242@> wrote: > > > > Hello all, > > I have an EMAX II keyboard, and have O/S 2.14 on a floppy. Everything loads fine, but when I try to format a zip100 disk it tells me "Different software revision!!" ( I choose SCSI id 5, and it says "this is not an EMAX disk" so it detects the SCSI zip drive ) > > Does the same thing when I try to access other menu level options. Any ideas?
