dunno if you solved this or not....but...i had the same issue...and it was the os floppy causing the issue.... i made a boot floppy using exmp (downlopaded the o.s. file form the files section in here). worked fine, no error messages. I could boot the emax with it..however it would not format zip disks. Also some of the menu selections did not work...giving a wrong os version or something like that, for example the bird run did not work. i got someone to make me a boot floppy from their emax..and now everything works fine!!! so if you make boot floppy using exmp, and get error messages or are unable to format a zip disk....check if the bird run works....if it doesnt it means your o.s. disk is probably the issue hope this helps for someone in the future... --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, nung242 <nung242@...> wrote: > > Hello all, > I have an EMAX II keyboard, and have O/S 2.14 on a floppy. Everything loads fine, but when I try to format a zip100 disk it tells me "Different software revision!!" ( I choose SCSI id 5, and it says "this is not an EMAX disk" so it detects the SCSI zip drive ) > Does the same thing when I try to access other menu level options. Any ideas?
