Re: [emax] Celebrity Emaxes Where are they now?

2009-07-10 by Dave Sullivan

Well I've got an Emax 2 that was used by Depeche. I know the
Emax's history, as it came directly from Mute.
It had a bit of a hard life, but has now been repaired, and is in
Full working order.
I've also got a Novation Drum Station from Mute's now closed
Studio, 'The Instrument'.
It was used by Depeche, as well as Fad Gadget, and several other
Mute artists.
I'm a big fan of Depeche Mode, and have been for many years.
I also managed to get hold of 2 large boxes of samples on floppy.
I have to admit that I have only had time to have a listen to 25%
Of the discs, but I have to say there are some very interesting sounds
On the discs I've loaded.
So, Depeche used instruments are still around. Several of which
Have ended up on eBay.

All the best

I would LOVE to know how to get my paws on the Emax HD's or the Emax 2's that Depeche used on the tours 88-93.

Could you imagine having Alan Wilder's Emaxes with the hard drives loaded with Depeche Banks.

Just a dreaming session happening in my brain....

THey must still be around, I wonder who has them. I'm sure Alan didn't keep them as he would move on as far as gear goes. I think he has an Emulator 3. But those units must still exist somewhere.

Hmmmm any ideas people?
