But I have to say that this custom RS422 device I have been using can probably also be changed into a standalone device with flash memory.
This thing could then be hooked up to the Emax via the RS422 and act as a small 'filehost' device towards the Emax. 
A little bit like the old CDS3 cdrom drives but much smaller...

Still: SCSI is much better and much faster !

By the way: I also tested the bank upload from PC to Emax today and it worked perfectly too. 
Bank transfer from PC to Emax via RS422 takes about 33 seconds.
Bank transfer from Emax to PC via RS422 takes aboyt 38 seconds.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
