specifically there would be say 4 - 6 patterns running to a separate drum
sound on the same MIDI channel and the only data that gets sent AFAIK is
note and velocity, no CC data.

so you're saying maybe i should trigger the Emax in Super Mode and put each
drum sound on a separate MIDI channel?
