Re: [emax] Emax 1 Access Device

2010-05-19 by Dan Luna

He Ted, Dan Luna here,

I have an Emax II that does not have a hard disk. I do, however, have two jaz drives. The EII does have a scsi port. I would love to find out if A. I could retrofit this unit with a hard disk. B. If I can't, what my next option might be. C. If I could get the OS disk (floppy) , and D. if I should just get rid of it and find one with an HD?

Please let me know if you can help.

Dan

Emax 1 doesn't support the SCSI Dump standard, so you can't move banks
over it.
I don't believe there is software that would make a PC be a SCSI
"Target", so you can't interchange banks that way that I know of.

BTW- when you are ready to add SCSI to your Emax 1 drop me a line- I
sell the ICs / kit necessary to make that happen.

Ted

Hello,

Has anyone ever used a Xircom "PGSCSI" USB to SCSI Converter? It's
advertised as a plug-and-play WIN/MAC device. I just bought the kit.
It comes with the 25-pin converter interface for attaching to a screw-
mounting computer terminal, a 25-pin coupling for serial scsi linking,
standard usb printer-style cable and a cd with all the info and
drivers for NT, 95, 98, and Windows 2000.

I googled and found nothing.

I've been following for a couple of years but never saw the device
mentioned.

My machine is not SCSI-ready yet, but I would be willing to lend it
out to some who is and who would like to try it for the group.

Let me know.

Thanks!
