i have custom built cases that are aluminium sheets with aluminium angle riveted into a box section

with corner aluminium protectors they are joined to gether with a long aluminium hinge along the whole of the backside of the case on the front there are 3 latch hook fixings which can be paddlocked 

in side i used semi hard foamfor the internals then overlaid it with velvet keeps it nice and secured 

you can make it with mdf but this makes them very heavy i have also used 7mm platic boards before which is very rigid and 7mm ply covered with leather effect vyna

or get your self a gator case these are good i have a custom built 1 from them for my 3200 when i brought it new in 92

look on ebay they sell for peanuts nower days but you might have to refurbish it with new foaml
