1) Emax uses RS422 with a specific sync clock that most RS422 adapters don't have. 2) There has been much discussion about this previously and there is a USB to RS422 adapter that can be made- details on esynthesist site where you get EMXP. You may wish to search the archives of messages in this group- these topics have been covered in depth a couple of times.
