There are a few possibilities for this.. as Ted mentions, the scrambled megs
problem is one possibility
I have also had this condition when the board or chips become unseated
slightly.. I managed to cure this by removing the memory daughterboard and
slightly lifting and re-seating the memory chips and then securely re-fitting
the board.
I have also seen this condition when the PSU output levels drop, particularly
the 5v level.
It may be worth getting a re-cap kit for the PSU
hope this helps
Simon

Subject: [emax] emax memory issues
I have an emax 2 model 2213 that boots up to 1 meg but states that there is a
memory issue. The unit came with the 2meg memory expansion disk. Opening it up
it does seem to have the memory daughter board. Any reason that it may be only
recognizing 1meg? Is it possible the board was not installed properly?
Thanks!
