Re: Fried CF card in Emax II

2011-03-14 by Lee

Thanks Ted. I've never had any problems with the power supply until now - and it seems to have been brought on by my second solid state drive. I was always under the impression that the CF card adaptors and ACARDs would draw much less power than a conventional hard disk drive!?! But this proves otherwise. Oh well, back to one CF card then :-( Seems greedy, but I wanted the Emu library on one CF card and my own banks on a separate 'working' or 'scratch' CF card.

I 'thought' it would be easy enough to install a second CF card (with a different SCSI ID number) in one of the Emax II's. Everything seemed fine - SCSI cable, Molex cables, jumper settings checked on both ACARDs, Master and Slave jumpers set on the IDE-CF adaptors...
