Two things for group digestion: 1) There's a difference between SELLING someone's intellectual property, and making it available for a small, password protected community of enthusiasts. That may not satisfy the letter of the law, but I think the worst "problem" it would create is someone might ask to take it down. In which case, do so. I doubt it's any more legal to email copies of it to everyone who asks. Personally, I find charging money for unauthorized redistribution to be a pretty sleazy way to make a buck, but that's another story. 2) __PLEASE__ stop copying this entire thread when you reply. Easily 80% of it is just gibberish and double-spaced reply bars. --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, Ted Summers <djtbs1@...> wrote: > > So, if I understand this right- > the musicparts.com may not have actually been licensed to sell this and now > have stopped providing it. > > To me, this would indicate that someone who IS licensed for the intellectual > property is still defending their right to it and most likely filed a cease > and desist or some such. > > The second part of this supposition would be that to place the file in the > group files section could result in a problem for the group. > > Regards, > Ted > > > 2011/5/24 el macaco <elmacaco@...> > > > > > > > > > I would love the PDF as well. > > > > [...]
