Thanks Kris, My motherboard had a floppy connector and I grabbed the floppy from my old PC. I only use EMXP with my Emax, so that's all the functionality I need, however, if it is considerable time, I don't blame you if you don't get right on it. I've spenty way to long trying the solution on the omniflop website over and over and it never worked. I'll have a look at some other tests. I'd say lets see if Mr. Omniflop has anything to offer before you start any wasted effort. But if there is no solution, then I would be very happy to use your old driver. Hi Ed, I'm not really aware of people using Windows 7 64bit with EMXP and OmniFlop - I can not say for sure that it works, I don't have a Windows 7 system to test it myself. Most Windows 7 systems are installed on new PC's which don't have any internal floppy drive anymore, so people using EMXP on such machine are typically not using the floppy disk functions of EMXP... OmniFlop is the only driver that currently can be used by EMXP. I'm thinking about adding another one (which is also faster), but it needs some additional programming and testing which will take some time...and I'm currently in the middle of building version 2.11 with Emulator-I support. As a temporary quick win, I could consider to re-release the very first 0.9 version of EMXP based on another floppy driver. That could be done much faster I guess, because the code base was very compact and simple. Version 0.9 was only capable of reading, writing and formatting Emax floppy disks, but that's sufficient for you I guess. And the files created/read by version 0.9 are the EMX files (.EM1, .EMX) which are also used by the current EMXP version. But if someone else has successfully used OmniFlop with Windows 7 64bit, there's little chance I will do the effort :-) ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, el macaco <elmacaco@...> wrote: > > > Thanks Jammie, > > But I am installing logged in as administrator, at least it lets me go through with it and I have other admin access. > > There are instructions on the omniflop site that talk about how 64 bit windows OS's have some new drivier signing system, and it shows two ways to override them. I have access to the basic disk systems (emu EOS and Emu ESI) but not emax file systems. I can't use it with Omniflop or with EMXP. In fact, on that same page it says that the 64 bit omniflop is not guaranteed and untested. > > I also tried installing the 32 bit driver, but that gives me an error before installing saying that it is not designed for this platform. > > Is anyone using the 64 bit Omniflop driver successfully? I really just need it for EMXP, for my emax, that's it, so if there is another floppy driver that will support EMXP and Emax format disks please let me know. > > This is somewhat curious, when I install the Omniflop driver and reboot, the display in device manager says floppy disk drive with an !, but when I look at the details it has the OmniFlop driver info, when I roll back the driver to the microsoft one, the display in device manager says Omniflop Enhanced Floppy disk drive, even when I reboot, and when I look at the driver details it says the microsoft details. I wonder why it has the information for the drivers reversed? Maybe that can help solve it/ I am going to email the Omniflop guy now too. > > Hey Kris, > > you must have other 64 bit EMXP users right, do they have omniflop installed? > > If anyone has success stories or any suggestions I am all earts, I don;t really want to use a second computer for EMXP or mess with other operating systems etc. > > Thanks, > > Ed > > > > > > > To: emax@yahoogroups.com > From: jammie.emma@... > Date: Sun, 28 Aug 2011 18:12:40 +0100 > Subject: Re: [emax] Can't install Omnniflop Driver on Windows 7 ? > > > > > > > > you need to install it as administrator > ----- Original Message ----- > From: elmacaco@... > To: emax@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Sunday, August 28, 2011 5:40 PM > Subject: [emax] Can't install Omnniflop Driver on Windows 7 ? > > Hey Guys, I have a new windows 7 Home premium 64 bit machine, my motherboard has a floppy drive connector and it works with the standard Windows driver. > > When I try to install the omniflop driver (Ive tried both the 64 bit version and the 32 bit driver, which is newer) it goes through the motions, but when I start Omniflop ( to make an EIII OS disk for a friend) I get an error that the driver isnt installed correctly. > > I get the warning > > "No OmniFlop Driver" > > The Omniflop driver is not installed correctly. > > When I look in the device manager at the Floppy Disk Driver details, I see the following error. > > Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device.
