What was the result of getting the regular MS driver to work with normal floppy disks and being able to successfully format them through windows? Is there a normal 4 pin floppy power supply connection as well? Composite devices though they are space savers can be very complicated, possibly sharing common power or ground with each other only isolated by a tiny sms fuse which could blow and render the unit dead. I would still try to find or buy a new standard floppy, and a brand new cable, such as the one that was bundled with the motherboard if it is a custom build. Also verify that you know where pin 1 is both on the motherboard and the floppy and match the red stripe. If the light on the floppy stays on continually instead of the normal "check status" signal from the BIOS (halt on errors, floppy seek, etc.) Then you know you have the cable the wrong way. --- In emax@...m, el macaco <elmacaco@...> wrote: > > > I can't remember the color, but I will check when I get home, and I will also check the BIOS again for enable floppy A or B. > > When I run Omniflop it askes me to select the floppy drive A or B, but I only have one (A I presume) so something might not be right in Bios or in the hardware. > > Thanks guys I really appreciate the guidance. > > Ed > > > > > To: emax@yahoogroups.com > From: jammie.emma@... > Date: Tue, 30 Aug 2011 15:58:06 +0100 > Subject: Re: [emax] Re: Can't install Omnniflop Driver on Windows 7 ? > > > > > > > in your bios it should enable floppy either floppy a or b > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "el macaco" <elmacaco@...> > To: <emax@yahoogroups.com> > Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2011 3:27 PM > Subject: RE: [emax] Re: Can't install Omnniflop Driver on Windows 7 ? > > > > > Thanks Jammie, > > > > It has a floppy cable connector inside, and that's what I connected my old > > floppy drive to with the old cable.
