apple drive is ide the later macs ditched the scsi connection for ide as ide 
was cheaper

just get your self a cf card drive at\ufffd40 its a no brainer

\ufffd4 for 32mb cf cards on ebay with free shipping no brainer

I am going to have to research this method. I have missed the conversations 
on this here.
I know i can check the archived messages though. Thanks for the replies
