So when you changed the ZIP drive's letter from C to H, the Hard drive's letter automatically changed from D to G ? It seems to me that something is not 100pct correctly installed in your PC... When EMXP is trying to access the ZIP disk, is the ZIP drive reacting (LED on, motor on, disk loaded and motor spinning) ? When you changed the drive letter assignment, you didn't notice any other (virtual) drives having the same drive letter ? --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, nobody cares <n_c630@...> wrote: > > So I changed the zip drive to H, but im still getting the same error codes. My hard drive for some reason is G:, would that affect it in any way? > > > > ________________________________ > From: esynthesist <esynthesist@...> > To: emax@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Friday, February 3, 2012 12:53 AM > Subject: [emax] Re: EXMP and zip usb > > >  > I think indeed that it must be a problem of that kind. > > The reported error (104/7) means that the very first 4 bytes of the disk don't contain the EMU3 identifier. > In that case EMXP immediately gives up... > Since your ZIP disk loads perfectly on the EIIIX, EMXP is probably reading the 4 bytes from another drive, e.g. from some virtual drive which also carries drive letter C (or from your SATA hard drive if it is also C like jammie assumes). > > Can you check the drive letter assignments in the Configuration - System Management - Disk Management application of Windows ? > And perhaps change the letter of the IDE ZIP drive to the highest drive letter avialable which is not in use yet. > > ///E-Synthesist > > --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "jammie" <jammie.emma@> wrote: > > > > that looks like your system drive is beeing read is your system drive c:/ aswell as your zip drive letter > > > > as i have an ide zip drive and i have no problems as mine is set to h:/ drive > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: nobody cares > > To: emax@yahoogroups.com > > Sent: Thursday, February 02, 2012 6:24 AM > > Subject: Re: [emax] Re: EXMP and zip usb > > > > > > > > just too be double sure, i checked the zip drive with the pc as a normal drive and it seems to work fine. on my pc the zip drive is C. my hd is sata so there shouldnt be any conflict there i would imagine. I put in a zip disk that i made with the usb drive and tested in my eiiix and it worked. > > > > in emxp it says: > > > > ERROR! > > Errorcode 104 > > > > content of disk in drive c is not compatible with emax/emuIII (subcode 7) > > > > and this pops up if i try to manage or view contents. > > > > hope this helps! > > > > thanks. > > > > ________________________________ > > From: esynthesist <esynthesist@> > > To: emax@yahoogroups.com > > Sent: Wednesday, February 1, 2012 2:14 PM > > Subject: [emax] Re: EXMP and zip usb > > > > > > > > Mmm... strange. > > > > But I have to admit that I never tested EMXP with an internal IDE ZIP drive. > > It was tested with a parallel port version (100MB) and a USB version (250MB). But EMXP is not really aware of the kind of communication bus (IDE,ATAPI,SCSI,USB,...) used when accessing (removable) hard disks or cdrom drives. It should accept any drive which has a drive letter assigned by Windows. > > E.g. memory card drives (internal or USB) are also accepted by EMXP. > > > > What error was raised by EMXP when you tried to access the IDE ZIP drive ?
