thats becuase you are kooking at led lcd they are thicker and dont fit most synths with out butchery of cases the vfd is thinner but is stil to thick as you also have to do a little case modification but not to much

the oled are just right 

so any module larger than 10mm means butchery to the case 

its in the message oled displays they dont have backlights so dont have the thickness of and led backlight which are 5-8mm deep just for the backlight hence why the thickness of the lcds are thicker

so this is the last time im writing this

oled display 16x2 what ever colour you can get with the 14 pin parallel side connection 10mm thickness will be a direct replacement just have to desolder old display from connector and solder new one on removing connections for the el foil backlight and fit with 2 nuts and bolts to keep it machanically in place

dont ask me this or any other question about this topic again its been written to many times before if you dont know what you are doing then get some one who does know

  Can I use that? So all in all I have to look for displays not bigger than 10mm, right? Or what is the maximal depth? Nearly every display I found is more than 13 mmm.
