were did you see this as its not been documented

the emax o/s eprom is the sofdtware that tells the hard ware what to do

the floppy os is the software function that comunicates with the os rom functions

when adding scsi capability the eprom becomes a larger one with the extra code for controlling the synth sampler and new scsi functions

theres also a pal chip which has extra logic function so tat the cpu can comunicate with the os rom and scsi controler ic

the floppy disk os sehd and the plus os has extra code to execute these functions

to add a eprom with the floppy os would need a bigger eprom and extra circuitry to achieve this and would be extra pcb duaghter board with a eprom with the floppy os in stalled so when switching on it could intercept the floppy os executable and the load the eprom os into cpu ram for controlling the synth

but not such board has been created and would need a rewrite of the os roms to access the extra circuits

if this can be done if emu released the code the usb and extra ram could be implimented but i fear that emu will never release

the os code for the eprom or the os floppy

we have treid with emu for ensoniq os code but no joy so i cant see us ever getting code for emu samplers either we have tried to get the code released for eos samplers but they wont release that either

as there is plenty of programmers thatcould add feature to these synth with the code segments and extra circuitry for usb connection

  I'm thinking about getting an emax1 or emax2. Since the os needs to be booted by floppy, and ive seen an emax on ebay with the os on an installed eprom inside the unit, where can i get these chips with instructions on how to install it?
